We have returned to Sam’s Town RV Park in sunny Las Vegas Nevada. We are parked the same spot as last year (Sam’s Town RV Park 2011).
Due to wind advisory’s we didn’t get to drive the ‘loneliest road in America’ on our way from Salt Lake City to Las Vegas. We’ll get it next time. Other than that detour, the whole trip went as planned.
It was a long hot drive into Vegas from SLC. We stopped for lunch at In & Out in St George (no stop at Big O this year, thankfully). As soon as we were hooked up, we headed straight for the showers and hot tub.
We decided to spend (at least) a few months at Sam’s Town RV Park again this year (fall/winter season). Celebrating Halloween in Las Vegas, Thanksgiving in Las Vegas, Christmas in Las Vegas and New Years in Las Vegas were all amazing last year and we would like to do it again. Sam’s Town RV Park is very convenient for us, with shuttles downtown and to the Strip, as well as Walmart right across the Highway.
We arrived back in Las Vegas in late August, a week before the first convention. We will be speaking (about Internet Marketing )at the Smart Business Symposium on Sept 4th at the LVH. We will also attend a few other conventions while in town.
Right after the flood restoration convention a big storm rolled through the Las Vegas valley. Wettest Sept day ever in Las Vegas history. Amazing what a couple inches of rain will do here. Flash floods, helicopter rescues. We got to watch all the excitement from a 9th floor hotel room at Sam’s Town.
The Firelight Buffet at Sam’s Town, the Chuck Wagon Restaurant at the Longhorn Casino ($5.99 steak, potato, veggie and roll), rode the shuttle downtown to Fremont Street and ate at the Garden Buffet (Main Street Station) T-Bone Tues., pizza and zucchini sticks at Joe’s Pizza, and we also got spanked at the Hofbrauhaus.
We also watched the first few weeks of the NFL season at Sam’s Town sports bar. After a couple weeks in a row of them not showing our game at the bar (Browns), we started walking over to the Eastside Cannery for watching football games. Ended up a blessing as the Cannery has $1 Buds, pizza and hot dogs during all football games.
Stay tuned, more to come …
