Red Trail Campground Medora ND

Red Trail Campground Medora NDWhen we came out of the Theodore Roosevelt National Park we got a full hookup spot (including cable TV) at Red Trail Campground in the historic old west town of Medora ND. We can walk to town from here (about 2 blocks). We paid $29 for the night we stayed (prices for services were ala carte). The campground owners are super friendly and helpful. Good location for an overnight stop or a few days while exploring the Badlands and Medora area.

While walking around the town we stopped for Buffalo burgers and fries at Maltese Burgers, a nice outdoor dining area in the town center.  After diner we watched the daily flag ceremony, walked around town a little, and then headed back to the RV.

We loved the town of Medora ND and look forward to returning to see the sights we missed on this visit!

From Red Trail Campground Medora ND we will drive a couple hours further west to Big Sky Campground and RV Park in Miles City Montana. Nice easy short drive ahead.

Wow! We were just there 9-16-13. It was extremely windy, but a very nice place to stay. Our rate was $30.60 for full hookups. Because of the winds and they said heavy rains were moving in, we stayed only the one day. We had lunch at the Cowboy Café. Good food.

    • Yes, Red Trail is a very nice place to stay. I like that it is ‘ala carte’ and you only pay for the services you want.
Wish we had more time to explore the area, but that’s OK, we’ll just have to return.
Thanks for stopping by and reading our travel blog.
