Great facilities, bathhouse with men’s/women’s bathrooms / showers, a lounge (with a TV and small library), meeting room, laundry and exercise / fitness room (with a full private bathroom). Pictures attached below.
The bath house and facilities were much needed and appreciated after several long drives and nights at ‘ Camp Walmart‘s’ on this leg of our journey. It was very nice to workout after sitting / driving so long.
The first couple days only 4 satellite channels (Dish) worked through the parks system at site 18 (most/all channels seemed to work in the lounge), re-scanned again the third day and got several more channels.
Leisure Landing is located 10 miles south of Hot Springs National Park. We plan to visit the downtown Hot Springs, the National Park and the bathhouses (after its dried up some from all the rain). Very unique National Park, its in a downtown area, and you can just walk in (no gated entrance or line). There is also a Boat & RV Show here starting on our departure day. We may stop to see what is there before leaving town. There is a Walmart 5 miles from here where we visited to restock on some essentials.
Heavy rain, strong winds and storms the first couple days here have kept us mostly inside. At least we had good Internet to get work accomplished while here. Temps about 70 when we arrived but dropped when the storms moved through. Overnight low in the upper 20s- low 30s. Some areas in the higher elevations of the Ouachita mountains here got up to 9″ of snow.
The same storm system produced tornadoes in Louisiana and Florida. A RV Park in Convent LA was completely wiped out, over 100 RVs destroyed , 2 people dead, 7 in critical condition, and 3 still missing. Very fortunate to be on the edge of this weather system and not directly in it’s path.
Lake Hamilton appears to be a little low. Hot Springs is a beautiful area, we look forward to returning in better weather.
