As we drove east on I-40 we decided to stop for the night, We called Kiva RV Park and left a message, the call was quickly returned. The manager met us at the entrance (an old Route 66 motel) and led us to our RV space behind the old 50’s style roadside motel. $20 for full hook ups. A very nice group area with a firepit, chairs and a grill.
The RV Park office and hotel was painted in a retro looking blue, pink, and cream color scheme.
The shower was very small, and damp but useable. Very clean but not much room to put your stuff.
The town of Tucumcari is awesome! Murals are painted on buildings all over town of 50-60’s era stuff. Antique and classic cars all over too. While driving around town we spotted ‘Lowes Super Market’ and bought some 190 proof EverClear (which we plan to use to make Apple Pie Moonshine).
