Fort Chiswell RV Park is a nice full service campground located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Southwestern Virginia, right off I-77 near Wytheville Virginia.
We made it to the campground in Wytheville just before the storms we had been racing had finally caught up with us. We stopped for a quick sandwich at Wendys before setting up at the RV Park. We stayed a couple nights dues to some bad storms passing through, and in order to wait for the curvy, hilly roads of West Virginia to dry.
We are within a days drive of Northeast Ohio, only a little over 400 miles away. Not sure which route we are going to take, either just take the express route straight up 77 of get off the Interstate in West Virginia and meander along the Ohio River as we inch our way northward.
Since we had to spend a couple days here, we may just take the faster route this time.
Fort Chiswell RV Park fills up quick in the afternoon / evening from travelers on I-77 / I-81. The RV Park is a very convenient location near the Interstate, with a Flying J right at the exit too. Nice big, clean hot showers and tree shaded camp sites with view of green mountainside.
We are so sad that this leg of our journey is coming to an end, but you can’t start the next great adventure until the current adventure comes to an end.
Thanks for following us as we travel all over the country.
