Oct 8 2010 – Friday
Did not plan to be boondocking tonight. We traveled about 230 miles today. Planned a short travel day, to only go about 30 miles from Laughlin NV to Golden Valley AZ.
At about noon, after a 12 mile 6% climb to our RV park of choice for the evening, they would not give us a spot. They had 2 open spots but said someone had called earlier and MAY stop in later to camp so they would not give us either spot.
Poor business and rude, we will NOT be stopping at Golden Valley RV Park again. Instead we decided to go all the way to the Phoenix area.
We cut across the desert on 93 South through the appropriately named Nothing AZ.
Miles and miles of cactus, and joshua trees.
A couple miles down I-10, just west of Phoenix, we stopped to refuel at Flying J. We ended up settling on eating dinner at the attached Dennys (horrible service) and boondocking in the RV spots in the parking lot. The so called all you can eat pancakes are actually all you can wait for … there was a 20 minute wait between each plate.
