You wont find this place on any campground listings, Frommers or Fodor’s Travel Guide, Trip Advisor or AAA Trip Guide. There is no website, phone number, or even a name for this place. Just a small simple sign next to Effin Burritos saying “PARKING: ENTER HERE RV’S WELCOME“.
This is not a campground, or even an RV Park really, its just a slightly muddy grass field offering “parking”, a step above boondocking, no amenities at all (except a few spots with electric) so don’t expect a pool, hot tub, or even a bath house. You are between a couple bars with loud live bands that play late into the night (one outside, and one inside).
Nestled unassumingly between the Effin Burrito Stand and Zeppe’s Pizzeria, behind Fat Sal’s (home of the “Walking Taco”), the Lollipop Candy Shoppe, and The Cove Nightclub is one of the best kept secrets in North East Ohio, the best Effin RV Park on The Strip | Geneva on the Lake Ohio.
Overnight RV Parking, including 15A electric hookup was $25 ($20 on non holiday weekends).
Don’t bother coming here if you want a quiet camping experience or to get closer to nature. (Although there are some terrific lake views as Lake Erie is right across the street).
Tip: Go to Geneva State Campground to camp more traditionally in northeast Ohio or Willow Lake Campground in Geneva if you want more amenities like Internet access and water on site.
The location can not be beat for a fun (party) night or weekend in Geneva on the Lake.
If you want to have some fun, eat old fashioned carnival type food to your hearts content and have a few drinks without having to drive anywhere, all while enjoying a beautiful sunset over the lake, this is a great spot to park your RV!
Located right on The Strip | Geneva On The Lake Ohio. “The Strip” is a small Coney Island style retro resort area on the Lake Erie lakefront with many things to see and do (and eat and drink). Approximately 4-5 blocks of arcades, food stands, restaurants, a water park, putt putt golf, several bars, a winery, a tattoo parlor and more.
On our first stay here (we have since been back several times), the first place we visited after settling in was Eddies Grill. Eddie’s is a 50’s style hamburger joint, with a Dairy Queen, Pizza joint and arcade. Eddie’s features burgers, foot long chili dogs, fries, onion rings, etc. We had a double cheeseburger and a large Richardson’s Root Beer ($9).
Sunday morning July 5th, before heading out, while walking by we chose to stand in line at Madsen Donuts for some fresh warm sugary doughy delights that are just delicious (3 for $2.50).
Speaking of donuts ….
Madsen Donuts or Jim’s Donut Shop?
Mmmm hot fresh donuts, not much better than that! Geneva on the Lake has two great donuts places right on the Strip. While the Madsen donuts are VERY good, we prefer Jim’s Donut Shop (at the other end of the Strip).
Both places have great donuts, but the service in unparallelled at Jim’s. From making a whole fresh batch of glazed chocolate cake donuts because I mentioned it was my favorite while asking for one (and they didnt have any), to microwaving my donut to make it hot , to the general attitude and disposition of everyone working there (the whole family does a great job). You can’t go wrong with either place.
This was a great “no-frills” place to park the RV (with electric hookup) for the Holiday weekend – July 4th). The fireworks were launched from the golf course a block away. We walked over and had front row seats. As I understand it, you don’t even have to leave The Strip to watch the fireworks and could have probably seen them right from the RV. Nice 25 minute fireworks display. While the fireworks display itself did not rival New York or Myrtle Beach of years past, the overall experience was wonderful. We will be back again not only to celebrate future Independence Days, but also other Holidays (Memorial Day, Labor Day) and even for a weekend getaway now and again. We took another walk around before leaving.

Don’t forget to pick up a Lake Erie Monster Bar Crawl sheet and collect stamps at the various bars and taverns as you make your way along the Geneva on the Lake ‘strip’. Upon completion you submit your sheet for a T-shirt at the High Tide Tavern.
